Eloquence with Every Syllable
Thunderclaps of applause
Twinkling, flurried light flashes
And a fairy tale voice, So melodious Gave wings to words That soared from the podium Painting pictures of Peace, Oneness, Equality, Abundance, Justice.
Enlightened, encouraged, impassioned I left the crowd for home, Passing in the night A mother giving her child an ice cream cone The past nurturing the future In a private eloquence of smiles and giggles That left the eloquence of the public podium Hollow

Lonely
Lonely held me last night Chapped lips, no face Cold breast, no place We shared a pillow
##
Falling Asleep
Scenes splash my mind's caves Quiet moonlit rolling waves
Faces, feelings, promises, past Bitter twilights of lovers last
Barren blue beach, not a sight The landscape in my head this night
##
Dysfunction
Laughing, sneering, savage thrusts Bolting, stinging, slaying trusts Tumbling, rolling, colliding flesh Slamming, veering, metal mesh
Jagged, charred lovers' brows Panting, stabbing, so aroused Trampling, punching, no relent Grinding, writhing, malcontent
Daring, punished, lost, unfound Prayerless heathen, sins abound Shackled wretch, walled from love War kills peace, bloody dove
Beaten more, made now right Can not love, drinking spite Thorns, thistles, briar and barb Clothed and jailed in clergy garb
He's Cain, no Abel So useless spent Help him, Mommie He can't repent

One Hundred Veils
One Hundred Veils Hang unfurled between Your throne and me I push against hosts of angels Unable to approach even the first; Seventy-five prismatic cloaks of light, Twenty-five moats of sonic abstraction Cover the Face That grayed Moses' beard
I beg Your embrace But You forsake me I court You across continents, Breech a thousand mosque gates And chase stretching minarets Those bejeweled, long earthbound fingers Clutching for the Creator, as I Across the idle sands
I hear the minaret's distant chants now Croaking words that bound and prescribe, My scriptural chastity belt; Why do You imprison me? Sitting jealous, elusive, aloof Twinkling across the gaping chasm You never nurse me Or show me Your Face
I asked for You once, sobbing In a scribbled tear-soaked note Impaled on a whistling arrow That I shot from my climaxing lover's Arching, bowed back But You never answered And left me gazing in gray rain Standing on the swallowing dark side of One Hundred Veils ## The Cold
She clasps our village A brutish bear flashing steel claws You sneering vandal! Hiding behind your numbing black cloak Robbing our comforts And leaving us purple In the blue concrete night##
Late Summer's Night
A ruffled satin cloak draws across the sky Announcing another night immersed in self Under star splashed drowning heavens Still, complacent, expectant, morose then focus fades, and secretly,
...listen to the distant wailing trains, lamenting, bellowing, echoing pains... ...listen to the swishing soft swirling breeze, whispering through shivering crisp virgin leaves... ...listen to the cricket's stubborn serenade, courting Autumn's crimson colonnade...
...go away!
Oh, damned sullen masturbating heart Find solace in the summer fan's electric hum And let my spirit sleep ##
